A brief history
Black Hills Beauty College was started in Rapid City, SD in 1978 by Patrick Miller, a well-known hairstylist and salon owner. Mr. Miller dedicated himself to providing the best training possible for those pursuing a career in Cosmetology.
When Mr. Miller retired in 1990, the South Dakota cosmetology school was purchased by Tom and Joy Poloncic. Tom, a construction company owner and Joy, an employee of Black Hills Beauty College since 1984, have dedicated themselves to continue the success and reputation of this beauty school set forth by Mr. Miller.
Because of the continued success and high demand of graduates from Black Hills Beauty College, they have grown to two locations. They are the premier beauty college not only in Rapid City, but also now Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The students of BHBC, and the cosmetology training they receive, have always been the #1 priority. BHBC employs highly educated instructors and a professional support staff. Plus, to ensure the students are receiving the best cosmetology education possible, Black Hills Beauty College continues to offer the industry leading Pivot Point curriculum.
